Running a business can make it difficult to see the business itself.
Owners often spend their days working in the business — serving customers, solving problems, managing expenses, handling the things only they can handle. There's rarely time or distance to step back and see what's actually working, what's holding the business back, and what to address first.
That’s where Vital Vantage comes in.
We look at the business as a whole—its financial performance, operational efficiency, profitability, owner dependence, transferability, and overall readiness for the future—to identify the areas that need attention and determine where improvements can make the greatest difference.
Our approach is grounded in a background that spans commercial real estate appraisal, accounting, and hands-on business ownership. More than 20 years in commercial real estate appraising developed a rigorous, analytical way of examining financial performance, risk, market conditions, and the factors that drive value—including assignments involving operating businesses such as self-storage facilities, car washes, and a restaurant. Accounting experience, combined with over 15 years owning and operating businesses, added the practical perspective of understanding financials and what it takes to run a business day to day and the challenges that can stand between a business's potential and its current performance.
Rather than approaching a business with a one-size-fits-all checklist, we use a diagnostic, analytical approach to determine what matters most and prioritize the improvements that can have the greatest impact.
This approach is the foundation of The Vital Rx Method: Diagnose. Treat. Discharge.
The goal is not simply to increase revenue or prepare a business for sale. It is to build a healthier, more profitable, more valuable business that is less dependent on its owner and better prepared for whatever comes next.
That might mean growing the business, improving profitability, obtaining financing, bringing in a partner or investor, transferring the business to family, selling it, or simply having the freedom to choose what you want to do with it—whether that decision comes years from now or sooner than expected.
Vital Vantage works with owner-operated service businesses in North Carolina’s Piedmont Triad to diagnose the business, identify what matters most, and develop a practical plan to strengthen it for the future.
